Unsettled Ground

Yarra Sculpture Gallery

Unsettled Ground brought together five multidisciplinary artists whose studio practices incorporated ceramics, assemblage, drawing, painting and mixed media. United by a shared interest in the intersections between three-dimensional space and other disciplines, the artists approached sculpture as a site of transition and narrative. The exhibition asked whether sculpture was inherently liminal, existing between object and environment, solidity and void, idea and encounter, maker and viewer. This liminality was embraced as both subject and method, with the works exploring how meaning and form took shape and reshaped through moments of transition. Collectively, the artists offered tactile, embodied responses to change and transformation.

My monochrome ceramic assemblages were presented on a bespoke plinth constructed from reclaimed wood, extending my Mother’s Milk series. The works reframed the domestic realm as a site of flux, intimacy and feminist critique.
